## The objective: Good tools, but no single system holding the work together

Aer Accounts is a young cloud-based accountancy practice in Tipperary, offering bookkeeping, financial reporting, tax compliance, payroll and advisory to small and medium businesses.

It already ran on cloud bookkeeping and Google Workspace, so the tools were not the issue. The gap was in how the work was organised, with no single system for client records, jobs and deadlines. Its digital presence also needed strengthening to attract new clients.

## Our approach: Structure first, rather than new tools for their own sake

Through the Local Enterprise Office's Digital for Business programme, AppAdvisor reviewed how the practice runs and recommended structure rather than new tools for their own sake. We also gave a lot of practical AI advice.

The recommendations focused on three areas.

- **A practice management system**: One place for client records, jobs, deadlines, compliance and a secure client portal.
- **A lot of AI advice**: Practical AI advice throughout, including AI automation for the repetitive tasks and cloud accounts production for year-end work.
- **A website to plan from**: A mock-up of the new website, so the practice could see what it might look like and plan it, with instructions on how to host it themselves.

> “Working with App Advisor was a very worthwhile experience. I feel very equipped after meeting the lads. Their guidance helped us streamline our internal software and establish a clear, modern digital setup for the practice.”

## The outcome: A practice set up to grow

The practice has a clear picture of how its website could look, instructions for hosting it themselves, and a lot of practical AI advice to put to work.

It also has a plan to organise client work in one place, set out in a full system proposal with best-practice recommendations.

What the business received:

- A mock-up of the new website, to plan what it could look like
- Instructions on how to host the website themselves
- A lot of practical AI advice
- A full system proposal with best-practice recommendations
