01 · The objective
Dorrian Construction is a well-established construction and civil engineering contractor in Donegal, working across residential, education, commercial and infrastructure projects.
It had solid digital foundations, but its systems were not joined up, so enquiries could be missed and admin was heavy. As the business grew, it wanted to get more from technology, and from AI in particular.
02 · Our approach
Through the Local Enterprise Office's Digital for Business programme, AppAdvisor ran extensive AI mentoring with the team and uncovered many practical ways the business can use AI effectively. It was one of our most productive AI projects.
Alongside the mentoring, the recommendations covered three areas.
Extensive sessions with the team, so the people doing the work learn to use AI well in their own day.
Skills and prompts left in place, so the team can keep building on them after the project.
Design and quoting software advised for the new timber-frame line, and a CRM tied to the accounts so no enquiry slips through.

03 · The outcome
The team now has a wide range of practical ways to use AI, together with reusable skills and prompts it can keep building on.
AppAdvisor also set out a full system proposal with best-practice recommendations for the systems behind the business.
